Faculty and Staff

The CPC faculty and staff are available from 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday (except holidays) to assist you with any of your needs. Each of the faculty and staff members plays a specific role at CPC and any questions should be directed to the proper Coordinator or instructor.

The following list will better help you with identifying the faculty and staff once you arrive at CPC. Please feel free to send an e-mail to any of our faculty and staff, and they will get back to you as soon as possible. All CPC’s faculty and staff members are willing to answer any questions you may have about the school before and after your arrival.

Lisa S. Houghtailing
Vice Principal

Aloooooooha!
I’m Lisa and I was born and raised in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. I graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.A. in English Literature in 2004. I have been teaching ESL for nearly three years to students from all over Asia and Europe. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, going to the movies, reading books, and eating fine pieces of chocolate and drinking grande non-fat mochas. As a “local,” I have acquired a vast understanding of Hawaiian culture and language.  If you have any questions about Hawaii or want to increase your pidgin speaking abilities, feel free to ask me! Welcome to Hawaii & CPC!

Yuka Yamauchi
Head Teacher & Student Services Coordinator

Welcome to CPC!!!
I’m Yuka and I was born and raised in historic Kyoto, Japan.  I have lived in Hawaii for four years, and graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with an M.A. in Second Language Studies in 2006. In my free time, I enjoy shopping at Marukai, drinking Itoen tea (Green tea only), and eating inexpensive Chinese food!! As a second language learner, I have been able to experience the numerous and sometimes humorous difficulties that often accompany learning English.  If you have any question or concerns about your classes, please free to ask me! Remember, I’m the cute woman with the giant bottle of Itoen green tea.

Tim Jordan
Instructor

Hi everyone!  My name is Tim Jordan and I am from the Washington D.C. area.  I completed my undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech and then came out to Hawaii to get my Master's degree in ESL here at UH.  I really love learning about other cultures and I've traveled to many different places in Asia and Central America.  I speak some Spanish and Chinese and I really know what it's like to try and learn another language.  I love watching movies, eating food from different countries, and getting out to see the beauty of Hawaii.  I really look forward to sharing stories and experiences with all of my future students and friends.   :)
